Wir sind endlich wieder zusammen auf Reisen und da haben wir uns gedacht, wir bloggen mal wieder! 😎
Dieses mal starten wir unser Abenteuer in Afrika. Um genauer zu sein in Kenia/ Nairobi. Wir sind schon total gespannt, was uns in diesem Land alles erwarten wird.
Los ging es am 14. Januar 2020 um 10:55 Uhr. George (ein Mitarbeiter aus dem Schloß), brachte uns zum Bus, mit dem wir zum Flughafen nach Edinburgh fuhren. Da wir aber spät dran waren, musste George ganz schön aufs Gaspedal treten und seine Fahrkünste unter Beweis stellen. Das war vielleicht eine knappe Kiste! Wir ziehen unseren Hut vor dir George!
Auf der Busfahrt durften wir dann eine atemberaubende Schneelandschaft bewundern. Wir haben nicht damit gerechnet, dass so viel Schnee lag - die Highlands sind auch im Winter echt sehenswert!
Am Flughafen angekommen, startete dann unser Flugmarathon. Erst ging es nach Dubai - 7,5 Flugstunden und nach einem 4 stündigen Aufenthalt dort weiter nach Nairobi- 5 Flugstunden. Hier wurden wir dann völlig müde und erschöpft von dem Team vor Ort in Empfang genommen und direkt zur Unterkunft gefahren. Wir teilen uns ein Apartment mit Kayla (ein Mädchen aus London, die schon länger in Kenia ist und hier 1 Jahr lang Volunteering macht). Morgen gehts dann richtig los und wir lernen alle kennen. Das wird bestimmt ein sehr aufregender Tag - wie heute eigentlich auch! Das Wetter ist schonmal super!😊🌞

We're on the road again! This time in Kenya, Nairobi and we decided to take you with us on this journey. 😎
We're very excited as we don't know what to expect. It's going to be a great experience for sure.
Our trip started on the 14th of January 2020 at 10.55am. We had the honour to experience George's extraordinary driving skills as we were late and only had 20 minutes to get from the castle to the bus station. He made it in time.
On our way to the airport, we were stunned by the highland winter beauty. There was so much snow everywhere!
Finally at the airport, we hopped on our first 7,5 hour flight to Dubai.
At arrival, we had a 4 hours layover before taking the next flight to Nairobi which took another 5 hours.
Finally at our destination, we got picked up by some of our team members and they brought us straight to our flat. At the moment we share it with another volunteer. Her name is Kayla and she is from England. She's very nice, arrived here last year in summer and is staying for a year.
Tomorrow we get to see the whole Kenya children's homes estate and going to meet everyone. Very exciting times guys!
Oh and not to forget to mention the warm and sunny weather here.😊🌞
